How to write a cursive capital M
- Start at the top line with a small curl and come down to the baseline — the first tall stroke.
- Retrace up and curve over in a big hump back down to the baseline.
- Repeat for a second hump, slightly shorter if you like, and finish with a tail to the right.
How to write a lowercase m in cursive
- From the baseline, draw an under-curve up to the midline.
- Curve over and down to the baseline — that entry arch is hump one.
- Retrace up and over for hump two, down to the baseline.
- Retrace up and over for hump three, come down, and finish with a tail. Three humps, always.
Connecting m to other letters
The rule that keeps m and n straight: cursive n has two humps and cursive m has three — one more than their print versions, because the entry stroke counts. Keep all humps equal in width and height, and drill mm in summer and common.
