How to write a cursive capital C
- Start just below the top line and curve up and over to the left.
- Sweep down in one open counter-clockwise curve to the baseline.
- Round the bottom and finish with an upward tail to the right. The curve stays open — capital C never closes.
How to write a lowercase c in cursive
- Start just below the midline and curve up to touch it.
- Swing left and down in a counter-clockwise curve to the baseline — the same motion as an a, but stop before closing.
- Round the bottom and exit with an upward tail to the right.
Connecting c to other letters
Think of c as an unfinished a: same entry, same curve, no closure. Because it is open, the join into the next letter is generous and forgiving — ca, co and ch flow easily, which is exactly why c makes such a good first letter.
