How cursive letters connect
Most cursive letters end with a tail on the baseline and hand over to the next letter from the bottom. Four letters break that rule: o, w, v and b are bridge letters that finish at the midline, so the letter after them hangs from the top. Getting those two joins right is most of what makes cursive look fluent.
Two more habits complete the system: dot your i’s and j’s, and cross your t’s, only after the whole word is written — one pass for letters, one pass for marks.

Is this cursive text real cursive?

Which cursive letter should I learn first?
Start with l for the upward loop, then u for the under-curve, then a for the oval. Those three strokes combine into most of the alphabet.
