How to make bullet points in Discord

1. Start the line with - or * followed by a space.
2. Each new line starting the same way becomes another bullet.
3. Indent two spaces before the dash to nest a sub-bullet.

Numbered lists work too: 1. 2. with a space. And Discord auto-continues — pressing Shift+Enter after a bullet starts the next one for you.

Bullet points in server rules and channels

The classic use is a #rules or #info channel. Combine with headers for sections and bold for the key words — a rules post with # headers + bullets + bold reads twice as well as a wall of text. In channel names, markdown is ignored; the dot-style bullets you see there are Unicode characters (• › ▸) pasted directly — grab them from the symbol library or the generator’s decorated styles.
